Laura Theismann, MT-BC, NMT
Hi, I'm Laura — a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) with 15+ years of experience helping children, adults, veterans, and families thrive through evidence-based music therapy.

Clinics, schools, hospitals, hospices, homes, and community spaces — every role has deepened my ability to meet clients exactly where they are, from a child's first vocalization to a veteran's hard-won breakthrough to a final song shared bedside.
From early childhood to end-of-life care, sessions are tailored to each client's goals — emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative, or spiritual.

Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and emotional/behavioral challenges.

PTSD, TBI, and life-skills support — including community work with Big Red Barn Retreat & Wounded Warrior Project.

Stroke, aphasia, Parkinson's, and TBI recovery using Neurologic Music Therapy protocols.

Compassionate bedside music therapy supporting patients and families through transition.
Comprehensive initial assessments identify strengths, preferences, and meaningful goals.
Evidence-based interventions across instruments, voice, songwriting, movement, and rhythm.
Ongoing documentation, family collaboration, and treatment-plan updates keep progress measurable.
"Laura met our son exactly where he was. Within a few sessions he was singing back, and it felt like a door opened. We're forever grateful."
"Bringing Laura in for our hospice team raised the bar for what compassionate bedside care looks like. Families ask for her by name."
"Her trauma-informed group at our veterans retreat gave the guys a way to process things words couldn't reach. Total game-changer."

"Music meets people where words can't. My job is to listen for what someone needs — and play it back to them."
